Girls basketball poll: Shen ranked No. 9 in state, Greenwich No. 8

The undefeated start to Shenendehowa's girls basketball season has the Plainsmen (4-0, 5-0) ranked as the No. 9 Class AA team in the state based on the latest poll released by the New York State Sportswriters. No. 6 Albany High (5-0) is the only Section II team ranked above Shenendehowa, while Suburban Council rival Shaker (6-0) came in at No. 30. Here are the top five Class AA and local schools:

Greenwich's girls basketball team made the Class C state rankings thanks to its 3-1 Wasaren League, 6-1 overall start. The No. 8 Witches' only loss this season came on the road at Class B Hoosick Falls. Greenwich has already beat fellow ranked Class C Hoosic Valley earlier in the season. Here are the top five Class C and local schools:
