Goings on in Greenfield for sports fans

The Town of Greenfield have announced several summer programs for its residents

Boston Red Sox baseball game
We still have a few tickets left for our May 28th, Friday night game against the KC Royals. Tickets are $62/person. Bus leaves Town Hall at 2PM and returns immediately after the game. Sign up at Town Hall.

Summer camps
This is a 1/2-day camp program that begins July 6 and runs through July 30, 9 a.m. to noon with a few extended days for field trips. Campers must have completed kindergarten and goes to age 14. The camp is held at Geyser Road Elementary School, bus transportation is available. It is a free program, but field trips are extra. Registration forms are on the Town’s website or can be picked up at Town Hall. There is a CIT program for 15 year olds. Applications are at Town Hall.

Golf clinic
The Brookhaven Golf Pro will give lessons to Greenfield youth ages 6 to 18. It’s a 5day clinic July 12 – July 16. Cost is $40. Forms are online, at Brookhaven, or at Town Hall. The Town of Greenfield’s Youth Committee also provides a $40 discount on Summer Junior Memberships at Brookhaven Golf Club. This is done right at the Club Pro Shop with proof of residency.

Sports camps
The US Sports Institute is putting on five camps for us this summer at the Middle Grove Town Park during the month of August. Aug. 2-6 is a Multi Sports Camp 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for ages 5-7 ($149), 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for 7-14 year olds ($169), and 4 to 5:30 p.m. is for 3-5year olds ($99). The August 23-27 there will be a World Cup Soccer Camp for 5 – 14 year olds from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. ($159), and a Soccer Squirts Camp for 3-5 year olds, 2 to 4 p.m.($115). All children receive a T-shirt. It is staffed by professional coaches from the UK. Registration forms are at Town Hall.

Fall soccer
Registration for our Fall Soccer Program begins in August. The season begins the second week of school. This is open for grades K – 6.

Information is available on any of these programs by calling the Recreation Director at 893-7432, ext. 307, or going to our website www.townofgreenfield.com , or you can stop into Town Hall Rec. Office Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
