Shen lacrosse retains No. 12 ranking, Ballston Spa an honorable mention

Ballston Spa beat Columbia 6-3 last week
Shenendehowa picked up two wins last week to remain the No. 12-Class A team in  the state according to the New York State Sportswriters Association. The Plainsmen (5-1) used an 8-0 second half effort to beat Ballston Spa early in the week before earning a 12-7 result against Guilderland.
The top five ranked teams in the state are:
Class A
1. Chaminade-CHSAA (6-0)
2. Smithtown West-11 (7-0)
3. Ward Melville-11 (6-0)
4. Pittsford-5 (5-0)
5. Ithaca-4 (5-0)

Other Section II teams to make the list are No. 21 Shaker (5-0), and honorable mentions Bethlehem (3-2) and Guilderland (2-2).
Ballston Spa (3-2) remained an honorable mention in Class B along with Albany Academy (3-1), Amsterdam (5-0), Queensbury (5-0), Scotia-Glenville (3-1) and South Glens Falls (1-1). Suburban Council rivals Niskayuna (4-0) — the only team to beat Shenendehowa this season — are ranked No. 3 in Class B behind No. 1 Garden City (5-1) and No. 2 Jamesville-DeWitt (6-0).
