Wilton Red Sox heading to Cooperstown Aug. 15
The Wilton Red Sox are a local baseball team made up of boys aged 11 and 12 from Saratoga Springs, Schuylerville and Wilton.
"This is a group of players that really appreciate the sport of baseball," head coach Jim Bennett said. "It has been a goal of mine for quite some time to be able to pull them all together and help make this experience happen."
The Wilton Red Sox are just one team of the 25 that will be arriving in Cooperstown's All-Star Village on Saturday. Teams are coming from as far
away as Illinois and California.
"It's going to be a good time," Wilton Red Sox pitcher Matt Wells said. "It doesn't really matter if we win or lose, we are going to have a lot of fun playing baseball and being with our friends"
