SARATOGA SPRINGS — First-year Saratoga Springs varsity soccer coach Jeff Geller has his first game, and first victory, under his belt.
His Blue Streaks opened the season with a 1-0 victory over Niskayuna at Maple Avenue Middle School on Tuesday afternoon.
"I’ve coached a lot of these kids on JV for the past few years so I know a lot of them."
Geller, who coached the Saratoga JV squad for the past eight years, was promoted to varsity head coach after last season, and said he’s thrilled with the opportunity.
"I’m just excited to be up here and excited to work with these kids.," Geller said. "I’m looking forward to a good season."
